Nosiheptide (NOS), a potent bactericidal thiopeptide, belongs to a class of natural products produced by ribosomal synthesis and post-translational modifications, and its biosynthetic pathway has largely been elucidated. However, the central trithiazolylpyridine structure of NOS remains inaccessible to structural changes.
