Two protocadherins, Dachsous and Fat, regulate organ growth in Drosophila via the Hippo pathway. Dachsous and Fat bind heterotypically to regulate the abundance and subcellular localization of a "core complex" consisting of Dachs, Dlish, and Approximated. This complex localizes to the junctional cortex where it represses Warts. Dachsous is believed to promote growth by recruiting and stabilizing this complex, while Fat represses growth by promoting its degradation.
